Impact Leaders Program & Competition

IBTECAR Consulting and the German Jordanian University- Program Innovation & Entrepreneurship (GJU
PIE) together with the Impact Week Team from Germany organized the Impact Leaders Program and
Competition using Design Thinking over virtual platforms and remote communication technologies. The
event took place in cooperation with several Jordanian universities, schools and companies.
The program was initiated to contribute to solving some challenges related to Education and Community
during the lockdown emerges due to COVID-19.
The program involved three main elements which are based on Design Thinking and Human center
approach
– Challenges collections from different target groups and clustering the challenges facing the society
and education issues
– Online Training and Coaching to support the participants practice the methodology
– Competition to come up with ideas and prototypes to solve the 20 selected challenges
The program was held fully online including the training and coaching on “Design Thinking” with the
contribution of more than 20 coaches and speakers who got trained by Impact Week in 2019.
The training was based on Design thinking steps which were introduced in several sessions over the week
either live (using online meeting apps like zoom) or recorded videos so the participants can follow up with
the steps and complete the tasks utilizing available online and offline resources
The program included some additional sessions in different subjects to help the participants in prototyping
stage such 3D printing and Big Data & AI for Education. Moreover, Inventors Secrets session were
presented to help the participants think out of the technological inventors’ mindset.
More than 270 entrepreneurs, universities students and schools’ students registered and formed 35 teams
who contributed, and 28 teams were qualified to submit their short videos for the independent judging
panel.

The end of the program, the organizers announced the winning concepts that were mainly developed by
schools and universities students
1. First Place: The optimizer Team
An application that motivates teenagers and makes them productive and help them recover from
the depression caused by current circumstances.
2. Second Place: Time Breakers Team
An online educational platform that gives students and teachers the ability to learn and teach in a
virtual 3D classroom where everyone is represented as avatars.
3. Third Place: Thinkers Team
An Application that uses tracking systems, and Bluetooth technology to give a better image of the
people surrounding you for achieving better social distancing and quarantine.
The Top Community Achiever went to Nesma Team and their idea was an all-in-one platform aiming
towards cheat free virtual testing schools and universities.
