Social Innovation and the Role of Public Sector Discussion Panel
IBTECAR Consulting, in cooperation with Oxfam Jordan, organized Thursday the third networking
session aimed at developing and empowering the social entrepreneurship ecosystem in Jordan.
Government institutions and ministries participated in the third dialogue session, focusing on
government services and their contribution to supporting social institutions programs, raising
awareness among the actors in the ecosystem, and facilitating networking among them.
Representatives from the Ministries of Youth, Industry and Commerce, Entrepreneurship and Digital
Economy, Finance, in addition to the Income Tax Department, the Central Bank, and the Jordan
Enterprise Development Corporation attended the event.
For his part, the General Manager of IBTECAR Consulting, Eng. Jamil Khatib, praised the “role of
government institutions to support the innovation sector and social entrepreneurship in Jordan.”
Khatib stressed the importance of entrepreneurs investing in these opportunities and following up
on government trends that contribute to Jordan’s renaissance in this field, and he thanked all
representatives of government institutions who participated in this event.
Networking events and sessions launched by IBTECAR Consulting Company within the MedUP!
Project, funded by the EU and implemented by Oxfam in Jordan and IBTECAR, aims to enhance
communication, cooperation, exchange of information and support partnerships between social
institutions
The MedUP! also aims to create an environment for the development of social enterprises to build
and grow in six different countries in the Middle East and North Africa region, by providing grants
and technical support.
The initiative is based on linking social enterprises with key actors in the ecosystem, enabling
entrepreneurs to implement their vision and achieve a significant impact in their communities.
