Mr. Jamil has more than 22 years of work experience in innovation development and management. He worked with different local, regional and international organizations in the Middle East. He participated in different innovation support programs targeting Private and Public sectors, NGOs as well as Universities.
He started his career in the innovation development side where he was an R&D engineer who developed Telecommunication devices for Siemens. He moved then to the field of innovation management and entrepreneurship where he established a startup in the IT Open Source field, then a consulting company in innovation management field “IBTECAR.”
Jamil worked on various levels of innovation such as governments (Ministry of ICT and Higher Council for Science and Technology of Jordan), on private sector, innovation centers and schools and universities. During his work he mentored and coached several organizations’ leaders as well as benchmarked SMEs innovation ability and performance to accelerate the new products development process. He worked in and designed several innovation programs and incubators in Jordan, Palestine, UAE and Egypt.
Jamil has developed innovation funding programs along with the monitoring and evaluation systems in 3 different countries, Jordan, Palestine and UAE. During his work, Jamil has participated in the evaluation of more than 1000 research and innovation proposals and monitored more than 100 projects covering sectors like ICT, Energy, BioTechnology, Medicine, etc. He also developed several tools for innovation assessment for ASTF, ASRF, Bedaya and GJU.
Jamil is a certified trainer and facilitator from several institutes that focus on entrepreneurship, innovation and technology transfer from organizations such as International Youth Foundation and Mowgli foundation. He conducted several innovation and ideation workshop specially for youth such as Microsoft interns in Jordan.
Jamil holds Master’s degree in Technology and Innovation management and Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.
