Umniah is launching one of its kind Jordan, Internet of Things (IoT) Innovation program to enable entrepreneurs and innovators to move their creative Hi-Tech ideas into realizable products.
The program will help the entrepreneurs of Jordan to gain technical skills to develop the proof of concept (prototypes) of their products besides gaining innovation and business skills to test and validate the concepts with the potential customers.
Omar Hiari is an assistant professor of Computer Engineering at the German Jordanian University in Amman, Jordan. Prior to joining the German Jordanian University he had close to 10 years of industrial experience in embedded systems development. His last position was a functional safety platform architect in the IoT group at Intel Corporation in Arizona, USA. In that position, he worked on defining and analyzing safety architecture platforms for dependable systems. He also previously occupied multiple positions at Continental Automotive Systems and Magna Electronics in Michigan, USA. Throughout that experience, he lead the development of a variety of massively produced embedded electronic systems from specification to production. Systems that he worked on included vehicle camera systems, vehicle battery management systems, and seat control systems. He received his BSc in electronics engineering from Princess Sumaya University for Technology in Amman, Jordan. He also received his PhD and MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.
